  IDF: INTERLAM DESIGNED FIBERBOARD

For outstanding performance, durability and consistency in our carved Architectural Wall Panels this proprietary formulation of a specific IDF board provides a more consistent density profile throughout the thickness of the board. Our advanced refining processes and high quality wood fibers offer excellent surface qualities for deep, detailed profiling of carved  wall panels and furniture components. An increased internal bond makes this grade ideal for intricate machining and is a popular choice for retail and commercial displays. The consistent density ensures even finishing and uniform carving profiles. Interlam is proud to be the only manufacturer providing this core to the carved  wall panel market.

 NAF: NO ADDED FORMALDEHYDE

Specific Core Notes:

All NAUF cores will accept finish differently than standard IDF Cores. Finish samples must be requested in the specified core to verify final design intent. If you are uncertain of the core of the sample used to specify the product, request an additional sample prior to specifying the core and finish. Most samples in the current market are manufactured using the IDF core. The IDF core produces a more refined finish than any of the cores below.

The cores below represent a specialty core offering and may add to standard lead times due to the market availability. It is recommended that the specifying body contact Interlam to discuss the specific job and application to determine the best core in this category based on thickness, size, quantity and availability prior to specifying.

  ForesCOLOR

Engineered Colored Wood

ForesCOLOR® is an innovative product that combines the natural features of wood with the brightness of colors and, because of its unique flexibility, allows exploring the third dimension, the beauty of textures and the best of engineering.

ForesCOLOR® is not MDF, it is an evolution of MDF.

The added value of ForesCOLOR® comes not only from color but also from its distinctive composition and manufacturing process. It is a wood fibre panel colored throughout, where fibres are colored individually, impregnated with organic dyes and chemically bonded together by a special resin which gives ForesCOLOR® unique physical and mechanical features such as:

•moisture resistance

•greater internal cohesion and, therefore, higher mechanical strength

•greater resistance to bending

•requires less effort to finish

•ensures a lower abrasion of tools

•FSC mixed credit certified.

ACRYLITE® GP

ACRYLITE® GP acrylic sheet is a cell-cast sheet made to exacting standards, offering excellent optical characteristics, light stability and low internal stress levels for consistent performance. ACRYLITE GP sheet is available in a wide range of standard sizes and thicknesses, in colors and colorless and low minimum order quantities.

No matter which of our core materials you specify, we are committed to minimizing our environmental impact.

Operating under the Guiding Principles of Responsible Care®, we strive to continuously improve our health, safety, and environmental performances. By becoming a national member of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), we take environmental stewardship a step further. Our goal is to improve the environment by supplying sustainable and long-living acrylic products to the green building sector and to all other markets we serve.

Recycling

•Evonik Cyro acrylic products are one of the most readily recyclable plastics. Some grades can be re-extruded many times without losing their properties. Our acrylics can be “reverse-polymerized” to yield the original base chemical, MMA, which can then be used to make acrylic again or a number of other commercial products.

•Evonik Cyro uses an average of 20 percent and up to 75 percent pre-consumer reclaimed acrylic in its extruded acrylic products.

Health

•Evonik Cyro is one of the few manufacturers using only colorants that are free of heavy metals in its acrylic products and has done so since the 1980′s.

•Evonik Cyro acrylic products are free of Bisphenol A.

•Evonik Cyro does not add or use plasticizers in the production of our acrylic products.

•Evonik Cyro acrylic products do not contain components such as formaldehyde that can result in the release of harmful vapors or gases.

•Evonik Cyro acrylic products do not contain paints or adhesives.

Manufacturing

•Evonik Cyro produces its acrylic monomer, polymer, and sheet in integrated manufacturing facilities in several locations across North America, helping to reduce the energy and CO2 impact involved in the transportation of its raw materials and finished products.

•Evonik Cyro operates a “one-of-a-kind” biological pollution control system that uses bacteria to remove and eliminate solvent fumes from its process. This cutting edge technology minimizes the impact of our facility on the environment.

•Evonik Cyro product plants are ISO 14001 certified to meet strict standards of environmental responsibility.

Furniture

•As a component for furniture or a shelving display our products comply with the credit requirements to obtain 1 point.
